Hello Again - thanks for the feedback from e-chat 1 - it's nice to know it's being read. Hope you're passing these on to your group. Right, a lot to get through. Area Committee. You know, it's possible that some of you are unaware who the new Northern Committee are - if so, sorry for that, here we go :- Chairman - Mark Randall (that's me!) In addition, we are indebted to John Smith (Leeds 18 Plus) for offering to be an Area Facilitator - for the uninitiated, this is a non-committee post for people who want to help out on Area without the 'hassle' of meetings and all that - if you're interested, let me know, the more the merrier. Events. Please click here to find a listing all Area and National events for the second half of 2002. The next events coming up are :- Linda Street Trophy - Round 1 is on July 28th in Northwich - (see the poster). The date had to be changed owing to it being confirmed before the NEC confirmed their meeting dates. Round 2 is on September 8th - Bowling in Leeds. a poster will be with you nearer the time. It goes without saying that your participation would be very much appreciated - Linda would have expected no less. In between, August 4th is the Northern Area 18 Plus Forum and BBQ, to be held in Whitefield. A poster will be out soon for that. Another two events that I've just been informed of are being run be Leeds 18 Plus Group: on August 13th they're holding a Party Night at their new venue (The Victoria Hotel, Great George Street, Leeds), while on the 18th they're holding a Treasure Hunt, and have opened it up to all Northern Groups. For more details, contact John Smith. And we can confirm that the Northern Area 18 Plus Karting competition WILL be held on October 6th - with the National Karting in November, this could be seen as a qualification competition! National Executive Committee The next NEC meeting is on July 20th-21st in Newent. As part of this, I need to put an Area Report together. Please can you let me know by Friday how much money is in your Bank Account - I HAVE to let National know this information, and they're beginning to crack down on Groups that don't disclose this - thanks to Bradford 18 Plus for sending their accounts to me already. Area Committee. The next AEC meeting is on July 14th - if you have anything you want us to discuss, please let me know, and we can talk about it and get back to you. WASH. You should by now have booking forms for WASH 2002: a word of advise - GO! If you've never been before, you don't know what you're missing - doesn't matter that it's cold/wet/the beer's £2 a pint, it's a great laugh! Let's go en-masse. Ideas. And finally, another thing that was discussed at the Area Conference was the idea of an Ideas exchange: well, feast your eyes of this - over 60 ideas already, you'll not be short of things to do. A big thanks to Bradford, Northwich, Rothwell and Whitefield 18 Plus Groups for their group programs (plus we also got hold of Banbury and Solihull's for extra ideas). See you again soon Mark Randall (Nprthern Area Chairman and proud of it) |
