Extract from Plus News February 1999 Put Her Down Santa! The Northern Area Christmas Dance took place on the 19th December at the Great Weston Public House in Marsden on the A62. The pub was in a rural setting with a late bar, which allowed everyone to get quite merry. Initial worries about the attendance were unnecessary as the room filled up and we over-spilled into the bar area. Santa Claus made a brief appearance and at this point the Romiley girls decided to sit on Santa's knee in a not very good girl fashion. Once the raffle had been drawn Santa left, as he was a bit worried about his reindeer. Everyone enjoyed themselves and now they can't wait until the Valentine's dance.
