Hello all - hope you're well. I hope you all enjoyed yourselves in Norfolk - the weather could have been better, but it could have been a lot worse! You may like to know that the WASH Committee complimented Northern Area on our superb turn-out (10 caravans/chalets) - they were very pleased to see us there 'mob-handed'. I was especially pleased to see Lincs Quest there - only one person maybe, but it still counts! Conference I look forward to seeing you all there next Sunday - seeing as you've not been asking, you all know how to get there! Out of interest, the room is not the biggest, so you'll need to be there promptly to get good seats; and I'm not pushing you, but the sooner we're finished the sooner you can do some Xmas shopping (the Arndale Centre's just around the corner!) Right, got the DJ sorted - it's Rick Brown (Stockport Quest), and his collection does include some good cheese! As a bonus, Brian Whittaker (Rothwell) will have some info at the Conference for things to do in Wakefield AND details of a hotel near the venue, so you can really make a weekend of it! Events Leeds Group are putting on a Charity Horse Race Night and Disco on January 25th - John Smith should have info at the Conference. It goes without saying that this is a worthy venture - give it your fullest support (and you might win some dosh!) Horses This got me thinking - would there be any interest for a day at the races? We could consider an evening meeting (Wolverhampton, jointly with Midland Area), but jumping's more fun (if a bit colder!) I'll have a look at a few options. Have you seen it? What do you think? WOW!! When I showed early copies to the other Area Chairmen at the NEC meeting, they were rather impressed (OK, green with envy!) Please give Dane all the help you can. And before you ask, Dane is a member of Northwich Group who wishes to remain anon (publicity-shy but a budding journo). National Holidays We now have the first boat booked for the National Narrowboat Holiday (Northwich and Rothwell) - there's still time. All you need is a minimum of seven hearty souls, and you too could enjoy a week on the high seas (OK, Warwickshire Ring). We also have a first room booked for the National Greek Week (Adrian Barnard and partner) - if it's good enough for a former National Chairman, it's good enough for anyone! See you next week!
