WHITEFIELD 18 PLUS AT WASH 1998Extract from POW November 1998 It was a bright sunny day when the Whitefield 18 Plus convoy set off for WASH, some where biting their nails in case we didn't get there - namely me and Elaine - (Elaine's car had broken down in a big way, she only got it back at Friday dinner time), After an unevent ful journey, (all the hunky hitch hikers had mysteriously disappeared!), we arrived just in time for pizza. it was then time for "Pump", (my band of the weekend! anybody who knows me will know why!), and another band who were very good, but not my thing. Saturday afternoon was spent, (well five minutes of it, as that's how long it took), walking through Hunstanton. Saturday nights highlight for me was Billy Pearce who had me laughing so much I nearly fell off my chair, (and alcohol had nothing to do with it). Later on came "Red Hot & Blue" another very enjoyable band. Sunday afternoon was Viking time! the "Max Bloodaxe Roadshow" was a bit slow to get going but then there were sword fights, knife throwing competitions and long boat racing a plenty with prizes of inflatable swords, sharks and sheep, (which went down well with the men, can't think why!). Sunday night was very sad as it was our last night, but we made the best of it with the "Merseybeats" ant the "Wild Boyz" (who unfortunately managed to escape from the Whitefield girls with their clothing and modesty intact). Monday morning we very sadly set off for home. Jo Krasij |
