The National Federation of Plus Groups is the largest voluntary Activities and Social Club for anyone aged between 18 and 35 in the U.K. It can be difficult for busy people to find the time or opportunity to go out and meet new people outside work or their immediate circle of friends. Joining Plus provides the opportunity to meet HUNDREDS of sociable, like-minded people whilst pursuing the activities you enjoy.

Plus provides the opportunities, you choose to attend, Plus is participation. The more you put in, the more you get out. You are not just joining s social group, but a whole new and exciting way of life.

You may join one of many local Plus Groups, including 7 Groups in the Northern Area.

The variety of activities is unmatched by any other voluntary, non-commercial social club.

WHO JOINS PLUS?

Friendly, Sociable, attached, unattached, intelligent people in their 20's and 30's. Our membership is international and covers a wide range of occupations, including Doctors, Local Government Officers, accountants, journalists, and professionals from the fields of I.T. marketing, Community Care, and many more.

Many people in today's fast-paced working world find they simply do not have the time to plan ahead for their social life. When you join Plus as a Group Member, you can pick up our Activities programme and find something to go to spontaneously on the spur of the moment.

Plus provides the opportunities, you may choose to attend, or get involved in the organising. Plus is participation. The more you put in, the more you get out.

HOW MANY PEOPLE
ATTEND THE EVENTS?

Around 50-60 people on average come along to our regional scale parties organised in the Northern Area.

National scale holdays can attract 250-400 members. We regularly have around 20-40 attending Multi-Activity / Sports weekends such as "Now Get Out Of That".

BUT I WON'T KNOW ANYONE
WHEN I JOIN!

Plus understands that for many people, taking the initial step of joining a group of people you have never met before can seem a little daunting. That is why each Plus Group organises regular Club Nights, to welcome and introduce new members to the Club in relaxed surroundings. Plus is a friendly organisation! Do come to our regular Club Nights as often as possible after you join, and you will soon find yourself easily making new friends.

If you join as a Direct Member, attend as many national and regional scale events as you can and meet lots of friendly, sociable people!

SINGLE?

Plus is not a dating agency. We won't match you up with other members or arrange blind dates, Instead, Plus organises a wide range of activities, with the emphasis on fun, friendship and shared interests. This is a far more spontaneous, relaxed way of meeting people. Everyone attends the events and activities they enjoy the most. There are so many events to choose from, you can easily meet and join up with people who also like the things that you like doing!.

WHAT IS PLUS?

Plus was formed in 1941 following the publication of a report entitled "Disinherited Youth" which spotlighted the lack of recreational facilities for young adults aged 18 and over.

Clubs were set up with the aim of getting young people together to organise a wide range of activities within a friendly, social atmosphere.

There are now nearly 100 Plus Groups nationwide, with 7 in the Northern Area, and more planned to be opened.

The Plus Group is set up with the ideal that as an organisation it will benefit young people by giving them the opportunity to choose and run their own entertainment.

Simply it`s a group of young people Within their own age range, who meet in the venue of their choice, and elect a Committee to plan, organise, and run their own activities and entertainment.

Regional and national scale events are also organised.
