Hello again - e-chat 7 and we've got 7 things to talk about!!

NGOOT

In case you've not heard, a Northern Area team are the 2002 NGOOT champions - many congrats to Janet from Bradford, John from Leeds and Phil Bettis from somewhere else.

And guess what? The gauntlet has been thrown down by Rothwell - they're putting in a team for NGOOT 2003. All we need is one more team and we can go for the clean sweep next year - who's up for it?

Linda Street Trophy

A big thank you to everyone who attended the 10-Pin Bowling tournament on Sunday 3rd September (31 players from 5 Groups) including Lincs Quest.

Thanks to John for setting up the day - enjoyed by all. Please see the attached file for full results.

Meanwhile, here's the Scoreboard after 2 Rounds :-

Leeds 130 (R1 50, R2 80)

Bradford 110 (R1 50, R2 60)

Northwich 100 (R2 100)

Lincs Quest 90 (R2 90)

Rothwell 70 ( R2 70)

Be warned, the Third Round will be NASTY!!

Area Diary

At the AEC meeting two weeks ago, we put together a major program of events for 2003. Many thanks to Rothwell for agreeing to run a dance, and Bradford for arranging a Treasure Hunt, among others. There's still things to arrange, and spaces should you want to put something on - up to you !

November Conference

Arranged - we're going back to Manchester for the first time in a few years (poster attached). I hope to see a full turn-out.

Lincs Quest

A big welcome to our newest Group. They had their Opening Night last week with a big turn-out and the promise of more coming along; it wasn't helped by their local paper cocking up and putting in their pre-publicity on the DAY of the Opening Night ! Not Lincs' fault, but it does lead on to .....

Publicity

If you are doing a newspaper / magazine ad campaign, try to make sure that you give enough of a lead-in time to allow it to go out in time. Meanwhile, hope you've been discussing the Calling Card scheme, and are ready to jump in - Bradford are considering a Car Windscreen Drop for the cards they're lookign to get. A very good idea - sounds good to you?

And finally.....

Bekki and I are leaving you (did I hear a cheer?). No, seriously, we're going on holiday on the 19th (a week on Zakynthos). See you on the 26th!

Have a good time

Mark Randall (Nprthern Area Chairman and proud of it)
