The conference was held at The Albert Hotel, Huddersfield, on Saturday 16th November 2003
Conferences are not everyone's cup of tea, but they ARE important for finding out information and making contact with other groups in YOUR area. There was a good turn out from Bradford, Leeds and Northwich Groups with apologies from Rothwell 18 Plus.
John A Smith was nominated for Area Chairman, Bradford was proposer and seconder was Northwich. John was elected unanimously.
The Conference was valuable for those attending as this was where and when they got to say what they wanted from 18 Plus Northern Area. A full programme of joint events was planned for 2004.

Many thanks to those who attended - it was a very worthwhile and positive afternoon, with some very interesting ideas suggested. Please note, at next May's Conference, all Committee positions are up for renewal: if anyone wishes to consider having a go at any of the Area positions, please let me know.
The main thing for me was my election as Area Chairman, thanks to those who voted for me. And thanks to Bradford and Northwich for proposing and seconding me. I'd also like to thank Mark for his work as Area Chairman, and to wish him good luck with the job.
