Northern Area 18 Plus e-chat July 2004
Hello everyone, here's the latest e-chat, sorry about the
delay, I did write most of it in July. There will be an August e-chat following
the Area Committee meeting next week.
July NEC meeting
The last NEC meeting took place in July, one of the main
topics was the changes needed to ensure the future of 18 Plus.
A great deal of discussion took place and the following
topics are being investigated;
- Web Site / electronic office
- Communication
- Charitable Status
We looked at the National tier, and came to the conclusion
that the National tier is required for the running of 18 Plus as a national
organization.
Publicity - The National Publicity Officer, Corinna Teale is
working hard on a Publicity campaign by contacting a huge list of publications
and organizing specific advertising.
The following new National Officers were appointed;
- Adam Redshaw - National Development Officer
- Dave Filer - National Activities Officer
- Lara Collins & Chris Page - Brean 2005
Co-ordinators
We are still looking for an ANC Chairman and Committee for
2005.
Adrian Barnard completed his tern as NEO with a vote of
thanks.
National 18 Plus Events
Inspire
This year's national 18 Plus learning event is "Inspire",
this will be of particular benefit as it's held in the North and this year's
main subject is Publicity.
All Committee members and those considering joining their
Group Committee are encouraged to attend. The event is tailored to suit your
needs.
Those Groups who have difficulty supporting their members to
attend Inspire may apply to the Area Committee for a subsidy.
Don't forget that Inspire also includes a Ceilidh dance in
the evening, this is open as an event in itself and accommodation can be
provided at a very reasonable rate. The links below give more details.
Please note, the deadline for bookings has passed, if you
wish to attend Inspire, or the Ceilidh, or wish to make use of the B&B then
you must telephone Adrian Barnard to check availability.
