As you may have seen in 'Northern Lights', I'm now (finally) back in work with Hogg Robinson Business Travel. Quite a relief.

Board Game Tournament

Many thanks to the FOUR members of Rothwell 18 Plus Group who BOTHERED to turn up for the tournament. Thanks to everyone else who helped Northern Area lose money AGAIN - if you ask for events to be put on and then don't support them, we'll just not bother putting events on (and then you'll be screaming about lack of events, no doubt!)

ANC

The Annaul National Conference will be cancelled, unless you get your delegate bookings in by February 14th. At the moment, there are NO bookings from any Area, so we're not alone in the lack of turnout. If the ANC is cancelled, the National Chairman can't be re-elected. so we'll have no National Chairman AND an ENC (Emergency National Conference) will have to be arranged at short notice (which you'll then have to attend no matter what) and if that is cancelled - bye bye 18Plus! YOU HAVE TO GO.

Pre-ANC Forum

A small apology here - I did say I was going to send out the details of the National Re-structuring Forum proposals before the event; however, we were told at the NEC Weekend that we couldn't tell anyone before the event - you'll be told on the day (by Jo Woodhead, NRF Chairman no less!) So apologies again, but I can say that there are some VERY important issues to discuss.

Rothwell 18 Plus

Can I take this chance to wish Wendy well, as she's emigrating - to the South! You'll love it down there - we'll miss you.

Whitefield

I've been contacted by Jo Krasij - Whitefield 18 Plus Group is changing its Group Night policy. They are having a relaunch on February 5th, and will then meet on the 1st Wednesday of each month only plus two Saturday Nights - this is a short-term measure until they get their membership back up again. Please give them your fullest support during this period.

Dances

Hope you're getting your gladrags ready for the Valentine Dance on the 15th - it'll be a laugh. Please note that the bar will be downstairs while we're upstairs, so don't get too drunk, or you'll never make the stairs! And looking a bit further ahead, Janet Rintoul has confirmed that the venue has been arranged for the Spring Ball, which sounds very nice. It'll be a Posh Do, so best clothing for this one.

Northern Lights

Hope you've had a chance to read it - one thing to ask is where are your articles, your stories, your programs? It's your magazine, produced by a mamber of your Area, so give it your support.
