National Development Officer £500 Development Fund Northern Area - I have received a letter from the Northern Area Publicity Development Officer asking for the £500 for a Development campaign to open new Groups in Preston, Merseyside, Scunthorpe, Sheffield and York. Firm plans are to be made to open Preston and York in the new year.Authorisation has not been given as yet as more detailed plans are required. North Thames & Chilterns - A feasability study form has been received and authorised for Elstree Borehamwood 18 Plus Group, This new Group is something of an experiment as it is to be run on different limes to the norm. A monthly social meeting is to be held with the best events of the surrounding Groups being combined into a "Premier Programme". This is quite an expensive venture and will take up most of the Area's £500 Development Fund. New Groups Barkingside - I was invited to this Group's opening on September second and their Active F.M. Party Night in October. No Feasability Study has been received, or any request for funding. Oldham - Attended opening night, a very good launch attended by the Deputy Mayor and the Lady Mayoress. Unfortunately the Group is to lose it's venue, which is to close shortly. Development Guide On-going, more research to be done yet. I have also spoken on the telephone to the Northern Area Publicity Development Officer, the Midland Area Development Officer and the North Thames Chilterns Area Chairman, hopefully being some help to them.
