£500 Development Fund

Midland Area - In January 2000 Midland Area submitted a request for the £500 for the Development of Walsall 18 Plus Group and for a campaign to open two further new Groups in the following twelve months. Authorisation has been given, but as yet no more detailed plans, or feasability studies have been received.

Northern Area - The Northern Area Development campaign to open new Groups has now ended. Two Interest Meetings, (which I helped with) took place in Henley, Staffordshire. Both were disappointing, in different ways. Unfortunately the Northern Area Publicity & Development Officer resigned just prior to the first Interest Meeting. The Area Chairman stepped in to take over the organisation rather than cancel the event, one prospective new member did attend. Special mention should be made of the second Interest Meeting however which was well organised by the Area Chaiman and included a superb presentation by Francis Wallington.

North Thames & Chilterns Area - Elstree & Borehamwood 18 Plus has been reported as something of a disappointment, and the Group is now closed.

New Groups

Southern Area - South Bucks` and Slough Groups are new to the Area, South Bucks` is up and running, and Slough openened on November 2nd, no Feasability Studies have been received.

Closed Groups

North Thames & Chilterns Area - High Wycombe, Hendon & Edgeware, and Slough Windsor & Eton were ratified as closed at the October NEC meeting though no closure forms have been received.

Direct Membership

In late November I received a telephone enquiry from a prospective member living in Weston-Super-Mare, she enquired about the possibility of opening a new Group, I referred the enquirer to the Southern Area Chairman and Development Officer.
