This Year the Northern Area 5 a side Football Competition was hosted by the Huddersfield 18 Plus Group. They also organised a Party disco to follow. The Competition was organised by the Group's Treasurer, John Wilson and took place on Saturday 8th of May at the Whitcliffe Mount Sports Centre, Cleckheaton.
Members entered from all over the Northern area, from Grimsby/Cleethorpes 18 Plus in the East, to Knotty Ash 18 Plus in the West. A lively competition took place and Leeds 18 Plus Group were the winners, with Cheadle Group second and Bradford 18 Plus third. Huddersfield came seventh.
The 5 a side Football Party took place following the Competition on Saturday evening at The Wickham Arms Inn, Cleckheaton. There was a Disco with a raffle, the presentation of trophies took place at the Party. The Leeds 18 Plus team collected the Annual Northern Area 18 Plus Trophy and a winners trophy to keep, and Cheadle Group were presented with a runners up trophy.
National Federation of 18 Plus Groups Vice-President Linda Street presented the trophies, and the first prize in the raffle to Rothwell 18 Plus member Karen Chaplin.
